Rebounder Stitching:
So many rebounder are stitched with cheap one ply stitching. Most are stitched with with nylon stitching. I always look for polyester stitching and at least 3 ply. The most I have seen is 4 ply.

There are many rebounder companies bragging on how they have an extra stitched pad around the mat. This doesn't matter as much if the material they are using is not polyester thread. If using nylon, then I would expect it to have lots of stitching. If the nylon is UV treated it will have a smell.

Polyester stitching is very expensive. That is why many companies don't use it or if they do, they are usually the most expensive rebounders.

There are a few companies now using Teflon threading but this is super rare and overkill for rebounders unless used commercially or in a gymnasium. Teflon threading costs about 7 times the price of polyester. Teflon is used on the highest end trampolines and out of mosts people's budgets. Teflon threading is also UV resistant an super resistant to abrasions. I have seen Teflon threaded mats and they look so worn out but the Teflon threading looks almost brand new compared to the old mat. There are even a few companies that combine Teflon and polyester together in their stitching.
Depending on if the rebounder is going to be out in the sun, or if it is too small and the person is going to be jumping on the stitching, this will determine if the rebounder will needed better protection. Nylon threading is fine as long as the rebounder is not abused but I always make sure it is at least 3 ply stitched.

If there are any chemical sensitivities please let me know on my quiz. Take my rebounder quiz here if you want help choosing just the right rebounder.
